1300 Cats Rescued in Tianjin, China

More than 1300 cats in dozens of metal cages were waiting by the roadside on Xiangyang Road in Tianjin Citys Nankai District. They are all the victims of cat trafficking and about to be shipped to meat dealers in Chinas southern Guangdong Province. That is, until about 100 pet lovers and animal rights activists came to their rescue. According to state-run China Daily, the rescued animals are now being housed in three abandoned classrooms in a primary school in Tianjin’s Hongqiao district, waiting to be adopted.

Thank you rescue team. We who believe cats and dogs should only be PETS appreciate your efforts. As far as domestic vs. non-domestic animals is a far cry from non-domestic pigs etc. As we do not eat POT BELLY PIGS here or horses, etc.

jerkinp….your nice …..i agree with you, i was born in indonesia in north selebes island, in these perfectur, we eat dogs, we cristian too, and so easy to search dog restoran in this profince, so i was eat dog too, untill 1995, but not now becousse i stay in japan now……

Depends on where you live. What some people would consider pets is seen as food in other places. In parts of Asia dogs are also eaten. Some people like eating bacon while there are people out there that keep pigs as pets. While Jews and Muslims would see eating and keep pigs as pets as dirty and wrong (religion). It all depends on culture and religion. Calling other people monsters is stupid when you eat beef. People in India see the cow as sacred because it gives milk and hauls heavy things…
